Older Toddlers and Preschoolers: Gone Camping!

The Older Toddlers and Preschoolers kicked off the summer with a two-week Camping Unit!

Each morning, the Older Toddlers and Preschoolers enjoyed camping in the classroom! They played in a tent, fished off a boat, and picnicked at a table by the fire! They even slept in sleeping bags during nap time - with flashlights! They were sure to reframe from approaching and/or feeding the brown bear, who remained in his cave... Phew!

Over the past two weeks, the Older Toddlers and Preschoolers enjoyed camping activities including a Nature Walk at the Cleveland Circle Reservoir, Pajama Day, S'more Snacks over the (pretend!) fire and Bear Hunts!

During Art, the Older Toddlers and Preschoolers created campfires using glue, popsicle sticks and red, orange and yellow paint. They created camping backpacks, which they filed with all the necessary camping gear, including a sleeping bag, flashlight, hat, pots and pans, food, etc. They also created lanterns out of construction paper, glue and glitter! The lanterns were hung - and sparkled bright - from the ceiling!
