In-Service Days: Preparing For A New School Year

In-Service Days: Preparing For A New School Year

Back in August, we completely redesigned the classroom in preparation for the new school year!

The walls and ceilings were washed top to bottom and repainted, as well as the windows and window trim. We spent a lot of time cleaning each and every window pane to ensure our students could see clearly out the windows at the sun, clouds and trees! It is so important to allow natural sunlight into the classroom!

The student's cubbies were sanded down and painted a bright red.

All of the toy shelves were sanded down and painted both royal blue and orange. All toys and toy bins were sanitized and relabeled with both words and pictures so the children can visualize and learn where their toys are consistently stored. There were a lot of toys for us to sort through, organize and clean!

The art shelves were sanded down and painted a bright yellow.

A bookshelf was added to the student's reading corner. The bookshelf is red, yellow, blue and green - bright, inviting primary colors - which draw our students to the reading corner with the intention to make reading more fun! The bookshelf is designed around the student's needs; they can easily see, reach and return the books without difficulty.
